Dr Helen Turner (MA (Cantab.) MD FRCP LLB Hons) studied at Cambridge University followed by clinical training at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, and has been a Consultant Endocrinologist in Oxford since 2000. Her MD research was ‘angiogenesis in endocrine tumours’.
She has authored many research papers, reviews and chapters, and her main clinical and research interests include Turner Syndrome, management of Thyroid eye disease, and Endocrinopathies secondary to Immune Checkpoint Inhibitor Treatment.
She is a member of the Diabetes and Endocrinology section counsel of RSM, and of the Clinical Committee of the SFE, and is chair of the Patient Support Group. She works closely with the Turner Syndrome Support Society and is also a member of the Thyroid Eye Charitable Trust Committee. She is a member of the Steering Group for UK Register of Stored Ovarian and Testicular Tissue, steering committee for the Women’s health summit, and a member of the UK Women’s Health Real World Data Register Steering Committee.
She initiated and edits the successful Oxford Handbook of Endocrinology which is now in its fourth edition as well as the Oxford Desk Reference in Endocrinology, and organises the annual Oxford Endocrine Masterclass.
She was involved in the recent International Turner Syndrome guidelines and the Society for Endocrinology guideline for understanding, diagnosing and treating female hypogonadism.
